HYSA Calculator provides free educational calculators and written guides about savings accounts. It is an information service. The formulas are documented on the methodology page and covered by automated tests, and reasonable care goes into keeping them correct. Even so, every projection is a model built on assumptions that are stated there, most importantly that your APY stays constant. Real accounts have variable rates, fees, minimums, and terms that these tools do not model.
Results are estimates for planning and comparison. They are not a promise, a quote, an offer, or a guarantee of what any bank will pay you. Verify anything that matters with the financial institution before you act on it.
Rate information
Rate figures on this site, including the FDIC national average and the general range paid by online banks, carry the date they were checked. Rates change frequently and any figure here may be out of date by the time you read it. This site does not track, publish, or endorse rates from individual banks.
Acceptable use
Use the site for its intended purpose. Do not attempt to disrupt it, scrape it at a volume that degrades service for others, or reproduce its content wholesale as your own. Linking to any page here is welcome and needs no permission.
Intellectual property
The text, design, and code of this site belong to HYSA Calculator unless stated otherwise. Short quotations with a link back are fine. Republishing whole pages is not.
Facts, formulas, and figures sourced from the FDIC, IRS, CFPB, and Federal Reserve are public information and are cited to their original source on the pages that use them.
