Contact and support
One inbox, read by a person. Most useful for corrections, questions about the formulas, and cases where the calculator disagrees with your bank.
There is no contact form, because a form would mean collecting and storing your details and this site does not do that. Replies usually come within a few business days.
What to include
If you are reporting a number that looks wrong, the fastest route is to use the "Copy link to this result" button on the calculator and paste that link into the email. It carries your exact inputs, so the scenario can be reproduced without any back and forth.
If the calculator disagrees with a real statement, include the APY your bank quotes, your starting balance, and the period the statement covers. The difference is nearly always deposit timing or a rate change partway through the year, and both are quick to identify.
What this inbox is good for
Corrections to any figure, formula, or source on the site. These get priority, because a calculator that is wrong is worse than no calculator.
Questions about how a calculation works or why it produced a particular result. If the answer turns out to be generally useful, it usually ends up on the methodology page.
Requests for a calculator that does not exist yet. Several of the tools here started as an email from someone who could not find what they needed.
What it is not good for
Personal financial advice, tax advice, or anything about your specific circumstances. HYSA Calculator is a calculator and a set of guides, not an advisory service, and pretending otherwise would be both unhelpful and irresponsible.
Anything to do with your actual bank account. We have no relationship with any bank and no access to any account. For a problem with a deposit, a transfer, or a rate you were promised, contact the bank directly. If that fails, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau takes complaints about US financial institutions.
Before you write
Can you tell me which bank to use?
No. This site does not recommend accounts and takes no money from banks, which is deliberate. What it can do is tell you whether the maths on a rate you are considering works out the way the bank says it does.
Can you help with my specific tax or financial situation?
No, and anyone who offers to over email without knowing your circumstances should be treated carefully. The guides explain the general rules. A decision that depends on your own numbers needs a professional who can see them.
My bank statement does not match your calculator. Who is wrong?
Usually neither, and the difference is almost always deposit timing or a rate that changed mid-year. Send the inputs you used and the figures from your statement and we will work out which. If the calculator is wrong it gets fixed.
Do you accept guest posts or link exchanges?
No. Nothing on this site is published in exchange for a link or a payment, and unsolicited pitches are deleted unread.
