Editorial disclaimer and standards

Effective September 5, 2026

Two things belong on this page. The legal disclaimer everyone needs, and the editorial rules this site actually follows, which are the more useful half.

The disclaimer

HYSA Calculator publishes educational tools and general information about savings accounts. Nothing here is financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice, and reading it creates no advisory or fiduciary relationship.

This site is not a bank and holds no deposits. It is not affiliated with any financial institution, receives no compensation from any bank, and recommends no accounts.

Calculator results are estimates produced from the figures you enter under the assumptions documented on the methodology page. They are not offers, quotes, or guarantees. Your actual return will differ because savings rates are variable and real accounts carry terms these tools do not model.

Before acting on anything here, confirm the details with the financial institution and, where the decision matters, with a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.

How figures are sourced

Every claim that rests on a number is linked to its primary source on the page that uses it. Rate data comes from the FDIC, tax rules from the IRS, disclosure rules from the CFPB, and deposit regulations from the Federal Reserve. Where an article elsewhere quotes one of those agencies, the link goes to the agency rather than the article.

Rate figures carry the date they were checked. The current ones were verified on September 5, 2026 against FDIC data dated August 17, 2026.

What this site will not do

It will not run advertising, accept affiliate commissions, or take payment for a mention. No bank has any influence over anything published here.

It will not publish a table of rates from named banks. Rates move weekly, a stale table sends readers to expired offers, and maintaining one honestly is a full-time job this site is not doing.

It will not publish reviews, star ratings, or testimonials. There are none to report, and manufacturing them would be dishonest as well as a violation of search engine structured data rules.

It will not forecast interest rates. Anyone who tells you where savings rates will be in eighteen months is guessing.

Corrections

Errors get fixed rather than quietly overwritten. When a figure or explanation changes materially, the updated date on the page changes with it.

If you find something wrong, email contact@hysacalculator.us with the page and, for a calculator, the inputs you used. The "Copy link to this result" button captures those inputs in the URL, which makes a report much faster to act on.

Use of AI

Drafting assistance is used in producing some copy on this site. Every figure is computed by the site's own tested calculation library or taken from a linked primary source, and every page is reviewed by a person before it goes up. Nothing is published unchecked.
